我知道大家都尊稱她為「龐克教母」。


但是從她三句不離Bob Dylan，種種可愛又率性的作風來看，她和我們印象中”Nana”、或是《龍紋身的女孩》裡的莉絲完全不同，即使音樂上，她也和Bob Dylan一樣是個「詞作家」；她比較像詩人，而不是暴烈狂吼的明星。

當然這只是我的觀點而已，對於音樂類型不夠熟悉的我，也不可能去決斷「龐不龐克」的問題，一切只是fu罷了。從她那張經典專輯”Horses”聽起來，她就是一個擁有歌聲渾厚的本錢，能和如Joan Baez一拼的歌手，你聽了會難忘的聲音與歌詞。

我個人反倒喜歡一首她和The Eagles的Don Henley合唱的”Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough”，是流行樂風，1992年的單曲，當時非常受歡迎，歌詞是用一種慨然與了然的態度看待愛情的逝去。她在2006年左右進入搖滾名人堂，無疑是一代傳奇。

拿她和Joan Baez相比，其實是感覺兩者有相同的氣質。只是Joan Baez年紀稍長，近年鮮有作品與演出，當時為反對布希出來唱歌已是江河日下；派蒂史密斯的現場很有感染力，唱歌與念詩均是，她一直保持著那種氣質與音色，我甚至找到一個她和偶像Bob Dylan近年合唱的”Dark Eyes”，完全是天籟。

導演史帝芬塞布林為拍這部電影，跟了派蒂史密斯十一年，很有耐性的與她創造了一個精彩的人生段落，一派的藝術家熱情，一貫的創作志向，以及一種可鑑的時代精神。
