When is the best time to study? It’s one of
those endless debates among students; is it better to study at night or during
the day? There isn’t a clear answer to this question. Some studies out there
supports studying right before going to bed or right after waking up, because
these times actually help a learner to retain a lot of the information that
they studied during that designated time. Therefore, if you spend 15 to 30
minutes per day during these time slots, much of the new materials will be
retained for future use.
Below are some benefits to studying at night and studying during the daytime.
– Studying during the day
‧After having a good night sleep, learners will likely to have more energy and a higher ability to concentrate the next day.
‧Studying during the day allows learners to have time to communicate with friends or teachers if they have any questions.
‧Most people’s daily routines are scheduled around the day, so by studying in the morning, there will be more options to where do you want to study at.
– Studying at night
‧Learners will be able to study in silence. At night there are less activities going on, therefore learners can find a good chunk of time for studying.
‧Learners can have better concentration on the topics they’re studying, since night time is usually peace and quiet.
The most difficult part to learning any set of skills is to have a consistent schedule. As long as the learners can find a 30 to an hour of free time that they are willing to dedicate to learning, the rest will all fall into place.
